What is the memory that makes you laugh hardest today?

"We were walking to the house as pledges at 5:00 AM from Terry Courts after working a house party the previous night and being a tad hung over. As pledges we had to be at the house to clean it every morning at 5:30 AM during Grand Prix and other selected times. No one is saying a word as we cut through the Lilly Building's gravel parking lot full of puddles on a cool damp morning. All of a sudden Matt Gries starts screaming and running like a little girl. This action startled the rest of us. I asked Gries what was wrong. Holding his hand over his chest and panting he replied......I thought I was being chased by a big dog (not Glen Robinson)." Upon hearing this the group exploded into laughter. I was laughing so hard that I had tears in my eyes and found myself rolling around in a puddle. Troy Hanson, Matt Buck, and Tony Hunt were doing the same. Those that know Matt Gries will appreciate this story." -Robert Sayre, '97

"When Decker was buck naked (locked out of room, towel stolen) at the top of old side stairs when a female companion and I came home from class." - Brett McCullough, ‘95

"Our pledge class kidnapped the entire active chapter!  We waited until Friday night just before "hours" (back in those ancient days all the girls that lived in dorms had to back by 1 AM on Friday night). All the actives that had dates made a mass exodus for the dorms approx 15 minutes before hours. The pledge class had rented a U-Haul truck and parked it behind the house just after the exodus.  We immediately went through the house and overpowered the few actives that were there. We took them to the truck and put them in the back. As the actives returned from their dates, we captured them one by one and loaded them into the truck. After we had everyone on board we started for the University of Wisconsin. Did I forget to tell you? It was the weekend for the Purdue/Wisconsin football game and we had made arrangements with the Wisconsin chapter to party for the weekend. But I'm getting ahead of myself.  We drove all night having a great time. I remember someplace between Gary and Chicago that the entire chapter, pledges and actives, lined up beside the road and hosed down. That's true Brotherhood! A few passing cars honked to acknowledge our brotherhood. It was a long trip. We finally arrived at the U. of W. and crashed for a couple of hours before the game. I remember attending the game, but I have no memory of who won (that probably means that Purdue lost). No matter!!! Our Wisconsin brethren threw a party after the game that surely must be in the Guinness Book of Records. They invited two sororities (not a loser in the crowd), had a first class barbeque!  As you go through life, there are many events that rank as unforgettable. This is one of many memories with the fraternity that are indelibly etched in my mind." - Joseph Lung, '61
